Polished Diamonds Jewellery Design began in Christchurch, operating from 30 New Regent Street. Founded in 2003 and winning the ‘Best Retailer’ at the business awards, it was only fitting to open a second store in Ponsonby, Auckland.

Due to these assurances, the brand has gone from strength to strength, standing out from other jewellery manufacturers in the Canterbury and Auckland regions. Thus, a second store has recently opened in the Ponsonby area to ensure those clients in Auckland don’t feel as though they’re missing out. Located at 269 Ponsonby Road, the new store is well located and easily accessible.
Ponsonby is centred in the heart of Auckland city and only a 2km walk from the CBD. It was named after Ponsonby Road that runs the length of Ponsonby, from Karangahape Road south to the Three Lamp intersection. Ponsonby is segmented into what’s known as ‘The Three Lamps’, with the name deriving from the reconstructed lamp post containing three distinctive lanterns. The Three Lamps name was also thought to be influenced by three famous intersections in the UK; Those being Crewe, Totterdown and Bristol. The boarders of Ponsonby include Freemans Bay, Grey Lynn, St Mary’s Bay and Herne Bay. However, all areas are popular amongst Aucklander’s for their up-market shops, night-life and abundance of restaurants and cafes. However, it is Herne Bay, Ponsonby and St Mary’s Bay that are infamous for their views of the city and harbour. Whether it be Ponsonby Road for shopping or Franklin Road for Christmas lights and festivities, Ponsonby is certainly the place to be in Auckland. With over 3,100 residents living in this suburb alone, there is never a shortage of things to do or people to see.
